News / Buoy recovered
A BUOY taking measurements of Shetland’s west coast for a proposed wave energy farm has been recovered after it went adrift on Monday.
On Tuesday the NAFC Marine Centre sent out a vessel to look for the buoy, which was being described as a hazard to small boats working off the south west coast of the isles.
Shetland coastguard reported that the buoy had been recovered on Tuesday afternoon and brought back to the Scalloway college.
The buoy was being used to take measurements for the proposed Aegir wave farm off Burra.
