News / Creating a vision for local football
THE PUBLIC is being asked to contribute ideas on how the local football scene can be revitalised.
For months Shetland Football Association has been working on formulating a new strategy and is now keen to hear from everybody with an interest in the sport.
It has secured the support of Graeme Sutherland, the north regional development manager at the Scottish Football Association, who will chair a local forum to be held in the Clickimin’s Bowler Bar on Thursday, starting at 7.45pm.
The Shetland Football Association monthly meeting has been moved from the Lerwick Hotel to the Bowlers Bar at 6.30pm to precede the forum.
The local association’s vice president, Irvine Burgess, said: “It is clear from our discussions recently that despite the challenges ahead, this is indeed an exciting time for Shetland football and a chance to make a real difference.”
