News / Another record breaking Relay for Life
THE ORGANISERS of this year’s Relay for Life event have congratulated the Shetland population for raising an unprecedented £275,370.44 in aid of Cancer Research UK.
More than 10 per cent of the islands population turned out in support of the community event, held at the Clickimin running track at the end of May.
Local Relay for Life chairwoman Olive MacLeod said: “It’s just absolutely amazing. Shetland has done it again – surpassed all expectations.
“A huge, huge thank you to everybody that took part or contributed in any way to make the relay so successful.”
