News / Volunteer recruitment drive
SHETLAND Befriending Scheme is looking for volunteers to work with young people.
A spokeswoman for the charity said: “We are looking for volunteers from all over Shetland to attend four training sessions which will be held in Lerwick on Saturdays, beginning on the 3 November and ending on the 24 November.”
Potential volunteers must be over 18 and travel expenses will be offered to everyone taking part.
Befriending offers supportive, reliable relationships through volunteer befrienders to people who would otherwise be socially isolated.
Shetland Befriending Scheme is keen to recruit volunteers for the children and young people’s section aged between 7 to 15 years, ASN children and young people section also aged between 7 to 18 years, and young adults aged between 16 and 25.
