SHETLAND coastguard was called out to bring two sick workers ashore for hospital treatment in Lerwick on Wednesday morning.
At 8am the coastguard station received a call from Total’s Alwyn North platform 120 nautical miles north east of Sumburgh requesting help for a male worker suffering an unspecified illness.
As the helicopter crew landed the patient at Lerwick’s Clickimin landing site, they received a second call out to the Peterhead registered stern trawler Atlantic Challenge where a crewman had suffered injuries.
The crewman was landed in Lerwick around 12.30pm after being airlifted from the vessel 70 miles east of Lerwick. The wind was 25 knots from the south east at the time.
