News / Broadband slows down again
BRITISH Telecom is blaming the current “atmospheric conditions” for the slow broadband connections Shetland have been experiencing over recent days.
A spokesman for the telecommunication giant said the conditions caused intermittent radio fading on the company’s microwave links between Scousburgh and North Ronaldsay.
The spokesman added: “We have increased the resilience of our radio links between the Scottish mainland and Shetland to the extent that radio fading occurs very infrequently and is much less of a problem than it was several years ago.”
