Letters / Will SuS be honourable?
In his letter Do we get our money back? (SN 25/7/12), Douglas Young queries if the Shetland Charitable Trust will get its money back if SSE pulls out. I’m sure this can be answered by someone from Viking Energy.
Sustainable Shetland will of course do its utmost to ensure the charitable trust loses its investment in its entirety.
If SuS are unsuccessful in the judicial review, will they accept the rule of Scottish law and do the honourable thing by reimbursing the VE Partnership for the costs they have incurred?
In light of the Shetland Islands Council’s grave financial situation, well done Sustainable Shetland for standing by its side to ensure it remains sustainable and for not fighting against an income stream from industrial renewables which may alleviate some cutbacks which it will otherwise have to make in the future.
