News / Dementia roadshow
ALZHEIMER Scotland’s dementia community roadshow will be visiting Shetland for a week as of Monday 30 July.
The visit aims to provide invaluable support and advice to people coping with family members who suffer from memory loss.
People who are currently living with dementia, are worried about a friend or relative’s memory, or have questions about the condition are encouraged to drop by with no appointment necessary and in complete confidence.
There are around 200 people living in Shetland with dementia and this figure is set to double within the next generation.
Alzheimer Scotland chief executive Henry Simmons said: “The dementia community roadshow is a vital part of the support we are able to offer people around Scotland.
“It is helping us reach communities across the country, with information and advice, should they have any concerns about dementia.”
