News / More passengers at Sumburgh
PASSENGER numbers at Sumburgh airport have grown by almost 18 per cent last month thanks to increasing oil sector traffic and the launch of seasonal flights to Bergen, in Norway.
Airport managers said that there had also been strong growth on the Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow routes.
In May, the airport handled 16,924 passengers, 17.9 per cent more than in the same month last year.
