News / Palace beckons

FOUR Brae home economics students have their fingers and toes crossed that they will soon be making a trip to Buckingham Palace.

Fourteen year olds Craig Manson, Danielle Johnson, James Spall and Sianlee Lawson have made it to the final 16 in the national Cook for the Queen competition, part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

If they make it to the final four teams they will be heading for London to have their tasty dishes judged by the royal chef.

Their Shetland Northern Delights menu included Princess Bannocks, Lord Pinwheels, HRH Vol au Vents, Regal oatcakes, Jubilee crab, and Royal cheesecake with creamy Shetland fudge.

Earlier this month the foursome were invited to meet Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, at Holyroodhouse Palace in Edinburgh during her visit with Prince Charles.
