Letters / Should have had a referendum
It is a bit pointless quoting percentages for and against the windfarm, none of them can be accurate (A significant exaggeration; SN 15/5/12).
Shetlanders as a whole have not had the opportunity to have their say; if we had been able to have a vote on this issue back at the beginning of negotiations things might have not developed so far.
I have spoken to a lot of people who are very concerned about what’s going to happen; they don’t know how to object.
Not everyone has a PC, not everyone can write letters, a referendum could have solved all that – an issue as big as this that affects us all surely should have merited that.
Looks like somebody in Edinburgh knows better, by the time this is all sorted out and this horrendous development is built and our islands ruined, the whole thing will likely be out of date.
And as an afterthought, I wonder if there is enough room on Bressay for 103 turbines for a certain supporter to look at on a daily basis.
