Letters / Wind farm will become reality
I have followed many of the letters and details published about the proposed wind farm in Shetland; I have my own opinions about the fact the proposed individual wind mills are too large, and the scale of the project is too damaging for Shetlands environment.
However the reality of this situation is no longer whether the wind farm will proceed.
Approval has already been granted and Shetland has to reconcile itself with the fact that over the next few years that it will become a reality.
What we need to decide is whether we intend to be part of the financial gain this project could potentially offer, or are we going to allow SSE or some other faceless company blunder ahead and pocket all potential profit for their shareholders.
If our community backs this project we could retain a small level of control over this development. VEs partners have already made their intention clear to proceed alone.
We risk losing out on our scenery, our countryside, and any monetary gain along the way. Stop bickering and get some perspective!
