Letters / How much will you gain?
In reply to Mr Ratter, he is simply wrong (Council has nothing to do with Viking; SN 11/4/12).
SIC is and was by a minority vote of nine councillors responsible for driving forward the VE project.
I would remind him of when he was an SIC councillor he personally called and chaired a meeting in Brae Hall promoting this project. In front of many witnesses he promised all registered crofters whose hill rights were to home turbines many, many thousands of pounds in rent.
I, as an Aith croft custodian, would receive in excess of £20,000 by way of rent from VE.
Just how much will you and yours gain in rent from your own pet project, Mr Ratter? I am not aware you declared an interest at the time of that meeting.
Shetlanders have a right to know, especially with you standing for election.
