News / Winter is back
HEAVY wintry showers are set to continue across Shetland until the middle of the week, according to forecasters.
The unseasonal cold spell with a raw northerly wind and temperatures below freezing is caused by a low over Scandinavia that feeds arctic air south into Scotland.
Fair Isle weather man Dave Wheeler said Tuesday would be a bright day with frequent wintry showers, “these rather more persistent for a time across Fair Isle and the east side of Orkney”.
