News / Pair charged with assault

TWO young Shetland men were released on bail at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday after appearing in private charged with causing injury by assault as well as threatening or abusive behaviour.

Ross MacDougall, aged 23, of Lerwick, and Trevor Couper, aged 19, of Voe, appeared from custody after being arrested on Saturday.

Neither man made any plea or declaration and both were committed for further examination, though no future court date was given.
