News / Scotland’s best heavy metal band

LOCAL heavy metal band Ten Tonne Dozer has won a Scottish Alternative Music award in the ‘Best Metal’ section.

The seven winners of the various sections were announced at the Glasgow Garage, on Thursday night.

Ten Tonne Dozer made their success public via their Facebook site, saying: “Yaaay! We won!”

Richy Muirhead, creative director of the awards which are now in their third year, said: “Last night was such a buzz! It was so great to see everyone come together and support the Scottish music scene, the entire atmosphere was electric.

“The event featured so many diverse acts from hip hop, rock, and electronic backgrounds which was something I’d personally wanted to do – which everyone seemed to really enjoy!”
