News / Crofters stand for election

FOUR local crofters will contest the Shetland seat at the first ever election to the board of the Crofters Commission.

To be renamed as the Crofting Commission as of 1 April, the election will take place by postal ballot as of 27 February, and the count taking place in the Highland Council headquarters, in Inverness, on 16 March.

The candidates for Shetland are: Peter Dodge, Kathleen Sinclair, David Smith and Marjorie Williamson.
