News / Aquaculture consultation
THE SCOTTISH government has launched a consultation into the future regulation of the aquaculture industry.
As well as looking at the controversy surrounding the interaction between wild and farmed salmon, the consultation will include proposals to update law enforcement for both fish farming and wild fisheries.
The consultation will help the government draw up its new Aquaculture and Fisheries Bill.
The consultation will run until 2 March and can be accessed online at http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2011/12/06081229
