News / Brief eclipse
SHETLAND will be the best place in the UK to see Saturday afternoon’s total lunar eclipse, if it will be visible at all.
The spectacle will only last for a few minutes immediately after the moon rises at 2.54pm.
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the sun, earth and moon form a line and the shadow of the earth makes the moon invisible.
