dayone

To celebrate the time-honoured tradition of shopping, Shetland News, in partnership with Home Furnishing, Lerwick Building Centre, www.walkonit.com, Harry’s Department Store and Shetland Museum and Archives, have launched a special Christmas advent calendar competition.

Every day in December an old image of a former retail outlet in Shetland will be added to our slideshow until 25 December. All readers have to do is work out who occupies that building today and complete all 25 questions. Competition closes on 5 January 2012.

The competition is part of our Christmas shopping feature which can be accessed via the various banners on the Shetland News frontpage or at:
www.shetnews.co.uk/feature.html

1st prize:  a Firefox multi-fuel stove, worth £395, provided by Lerwick Building Centre;
2nd prize: a £300 voucher to be used with www.walkonit.com
3rd prize: a £200 voucher to be used in Harry’s Department Store.

In addition, our advent calendar offers exclusive daily discounts at Home Furnishing, in Lerwick. Come back to our advent calendar daily, print your voucher and hurry to Home Furnishing as these great deals are only valid for 24 hours and while stocks last!  For full details of this great deal please click here.

Once the final image is published on 25 December please complete the answer sheet (click here to download) and either email to photo@shetnews.co.uk or post it to Shetland News, Gardens, Hamnavoe, Burra Isle, ZE2 9LB.  Entries should arrive no later than 5 January.

The winners will be announced on 10 January 2012.
