News / Slippy roads cause accidents
THREE people were taken to hospital on Friday following two separate road traffic accidents that happened just after midday.
The two occupants of a car were injured when their vehicle left the road at the Fladdbister Straights, at Quarff and ended up on its roof.
They were taken to the Gilbert Bain Hospital for treatment but later released.
At about the same time a second collision happen at Southerhouse, 2 miles north of Voe, on the A968 which was covered in slush.
One person was taken to hospital and is being kept in overnight for observation after x-rays and scans.
It is thought that both accidents were caused by the slippy road conditions that followed a number of heavy showers of wet snow during the late morning.
