ALMOST 250 properties lost power for two hours on Thursday evening in the Hamnavoe area of Burra when an overhead line came down during strong winds.

Scottish Hydro engineers were also called out to Veensgarth, in Tingwall, on Thursday evening when a hydro pole caught fire due to a broken insulator, however there was no outage.
