News / Has the rainy day arrived?
Shetland Islands Council consultation about how best to tackle its financial problems, Saturday’s Althing debate could hardly be more topical.
Based on the long-held argument that the council’s financial reserves were being kept for a ‘rainy day’ the motion debated is: “The rainy day has come – the reserves are there for spending”.
Arguing the reserves should be spent will be Kevin Learmonth and Gordon Dargie while Gary Robinson and Bobby Hunter will be disagreeing with them and saying we should keep the reserves.
The debate is in the Tingwall School on Saturday 26 November starting at 7.30pm.
