News / NorthLink delay warning

FRIDAY night’s NorthLink sailings to Aberdeen could be delayed by high swell and winds, the company warned on Thursday afternoon.

The ferry Hrossey is scheduled to depart Lerwick on schedule at 5.30pm on Friday, but is not expected to arrive in Aberdeen until 10am.

With Friday night’s cargo sailing on the Helliar likely to be held back until 3pm on Saturday with arrival in Aberdeen on Sunday morning, NorthLink hope to place as much freight on the Hrossey as possible.

Customers are being asked to hold back on non-time critical loads to allow as much free space on the Hrossey as possible.

NorthLink apologised for the delays and said they would keep their plans under constant review and issue regular updates if necessary.

More information is posted at www.northlinkferries.co.uk.
