News / Nominations for Shetland Central ward open

FOLLOWING the resignation of the councillor for the Shetland Central ward, Iris Hawkins in September, nominations are now being sought to fill the vacancy.

Nomination forms can now be obtained from the Election Office at 4 Market Street, in Lerwick, and should be returned not later than 4pm on 22 November.

They can also be downloaded at www.shetland.gov.uk/elections/Elections2011.asp   

The by-election will be held on Thursday 15 December.
