News / Wind causes delays and cancellations
DUE TO the unseasonably high winds sweeping across Scotland on Monday, ferry operator NorthLink has made some changes to tonight’s timetable.
The Hjaltland, due to leave Aberdeen for Lerwick at 7pm on Monday night will now not leave before midnight and is scheduled to arrive in Shetland at 2pm on Tuesday afternoon. Check-in time will however be as normal.
The Hrossey meanwhile has cancelled its call at Kirkwall on the southbound journey. The vessel, due to leave Lerwick at 5.30pm, will sail directly to Aberdeen and is expected to arrive there by 7am on Tuesday morning. NorthLink said that the vessel’s arrival could be delayed though.
The sailing of the freight vessel Hildasay, due to leave Aberdeen for Kirkwall and Lerwick at 5pm, could also be affected.
