News / Coastguard teams trace lost walker
VOLUNTEERS from the Sullom Coastguard team helped a walker off the hill on the island of Muckle Roe on Thursday night after he became disorientated in the area between Muckla Water and Gilsa Water.
Coastguard teams from Sullom and Hillswick were called out at about quarter past nine after police received a call from a man who had lost his bearing as light faded.
The man was quickly found and walked off the hill at just after 10pm.
It is the second time within eight days that Shetland Coastguard was involved in a search for a missing walker.
Last week, the coastguard helicopter was called out to trace a man who had lost his way in the Hermaness nature reserve, on the island of Unst.
