News / Woman remanded after suspected drugs haul
A YOUNG woman from the Liverpool area will spend the next week behind bars after appearing at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Friday following the discovery of suspected heroin with a potential street value of £21,000.
Virginia Creggy, aged 21, was arrested in the islands on Thursday after travelling north from Liverpool and being searched by police.
Appearing in private, Creggy made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody while the case is continued for further examination. No home address was handed out by the court.
This is the third time in the past few weeks that Shetland police have made major drug seizures in the islands.
