News / Police seize heroin worth £21,000
POLICE in Shetland have made another significant heroin seizure after a 21 year old woman was found in possession of the Class A drug with a potential street value of £21,000, on Thursday.
Detective constable Martin Murphy said the young woman had travelled to Shetland from Liverpool. She was arrested and remains in police custody.
“This is the third significant heroin seizure in Shetland over the past few weeks. We are determined to stop those carrying, supplying and organising the distribution of such drugs to Shetland. Those involved in such illegal activity face arrest and prosecution.
“I would ask anyone with information on drugs misuse in Shetland to contact us and help us prevent the abuse of controlled drugs in our community,” DC Murphy said.
