News / Whalsay driver banned
A SIXTY year old pensioner from Whalsay was fined £1,000 and banned from driving for 16 months when he admitted a charge of drink driving at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Charles Hutchison, of Newtown, Brough, was almost one a half times the legal limit when he was stopped by police near his home on 18 July.
Hutchison was told that the period of disqualification could be reduced by four months if he successfully completes an alcohol rehabilitation course.
