News / Have your say on the ferry review
PEOPLE in Shetland will have an opportunity to have their say in the way local ferry services are shaped when government officials host two public meetings the isles next month.
The Scottish government is currently carrying out a comprehensive ferry services review which will help to plan lifeline services to 2022. Islanders are invited to consider a range of changes such as:
- how ferries should be funded and procured;
- the setting of fares; what kind of services should be supported with public money;
- who should be responsible for providing these services.
The meetings are on Monday 9 August in the Lerwick town hall between 3pm and 7.30pm with presentations given at 3.15pm and 6pm.
The same pattern will be repeated the following day, 10 August in the North Ness hall, in Yell.
