A CREWMAN from the Orkney registered fishing boat Keiller was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after he lost a thumb in an accident on Sunday afternoon.
The vessel was fishing north of Fair Isle when the accident happened.
The Shetland based coastguard helicopter airlifted the injured man at 5.20pm and flew him straight to Aberdeen in the hope that the thumb could be reattached.
