A FORTY nine year old man is lucky to be alive after falling into the water at Morrison Dock, within Lerwick harbour, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The man was pulled from the water by police officers and a member of the public near the Bibby Challenger floating hotel.
It is understood that the man fell into the water after returning from a night out. All emergency services including Lerwick lifeboat attended.
In other incidents from over the weekend, police arrested a 38 year old man for an alleged breach of the peace in Posers nightclub in the early hours of Saturday, and arrested a 20 year old man for obstructing officers carrying out a drug search, on Saturday evening.
Police also arrested a 27 year old man for shoplifting at the Co-op supermarket on Saturday, and confiscated alcohol from a number of youngsters outside the Clickimin Centre, in the early hours of Sunday.
Meanwhile, police officers are making enquiries after property was stolen from cars parked inside Fort Charlotte between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.
