News / Injured fisherman airlifted
A FISHERMAN was airlifted to hospital on Tuesday evening after suffering a thumb injury around 40 miles west of Unst.
The man, who is in his mid 30s and is said to have severed his thumb, was collected off the Alison Kay by the coastguard helicopter before being taken to the landing site at Clickimin in Lerwick.
He was airlifted shortly before 9pm.
