FIVE companies from Shetland will be among a contingent of 23 Scottish firms exhibiting at the world’s largest aquaculture technology show this week.
Aqua Nor 2017 gets under way in the Norwegian city of Trondheim on Tuesday and runs until Friday.
Aurora Marine, Flugga Boats, Grading Systems UK, GS Marine and Johnson Marine will all be exhibiting their services at Scotland’s first ever pavilion at the biennial event.
Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) chief executive Charlotte Wright said the aquaculture industry was a significant player in rural Scotland.
“HIE is helping businesses across our region to grow through innovation and extending our reach into international markets,” she said.
“Aqua Nor gives us a tremendous opportunity to present the best of Scotland’s aquaculture supply chain on the world stage, and I am sure it will be a very successful event.”
Producers of Scottish salmon are currently experiencing record sales overseas, according to the Scottish Salmon Producers Association.
