News / O2 customer advice
MOBILE phone users on the O2 network in Lerwick who were left without signal for around six days last week are being advised to contact its customer service department.
O2 had previously apologised for the inconvenience caused after it discovered equipment forming part of its Lerwick mast needed to be replaced last weekend.
The service went down on Saturday 2 April and was only fully restored on Friday (8 April).
A company spokesman said on Friday that engineers had restored 3G signal on Thursday and made adjustments to its 2G service that morning.
Several O2 customers in Lerwick have said they were offered cash compensation and free data for the inconvenience.
Asked whether customers were entitled to some form of compensation, the spokesman responded: “Customers can get in touch with our customer service team if they want to discuss their account.”
- O2’s customer service phone number is 0344 809 0202.
