Letters / Do your research!
In response to the letter from Neil Craig (Must be Corruption; SN 11/3/13), I suggest he does some research online into the respective death rates in the construction industry in China and Russia, and then compare this to the figures for the UK.
There is a reason why the roads are so much cheaper in these countries.
A poor health and safety ethos and dangerous working practices mean many workers pay the ultimate price during the construction process.
Such high death rates would be simply unacceptable in this country. The explanation he gives is ludicrous.
In the future please do some background reading before writing a letter on a subject which you clearly have very little knowledge of.
